Where did you grow up that you say 'h' as 'haitch?' When you say GH7 it sounds to my ear much harder to say as G haitch 7 than G aitch 7 which flows a lot easier. I appreciate your more photo-centric aspects of the review. Most reviewers tend to almost exclusively use and review the camera in video, but plenty of us use GH cameras as hybrids, and the stills are important to us.

You can't possibly be mile away with the 135mm lens . 135mm focal length is not that long . 135 is actually better than 85 mm

Great review! One thing I was missing about you comparing it to a 24-70 is the utility of the lenses. I find myself bouncing between the two often, so that could have been useful info for some people I think.

good job Julia. Way more informative than other videos. I could tell this took a ton of work to put together. I switched from Sony to Nikon for the Z8 and never looked back. I ended up getting an EOS R8as a cheaper b cam and love that too. I'm considering selling the R8 for the z6 III so I can be in one ecosystem, but the R8 works perfectly for what I need and I don't think I won't. I don't shoot video in raw and kind of prefer the auto video settings that Canon spits out

Excellent comparison! Both lenes have their place, but often the 35 muddies the story with to many distracting details that are not relevant to the main focus. That being said there is a time and place for both lenes. The images that you shared 96% of the ones I really liked were taken with the 50mm. Thanks for sharing.

I like the tones of warmish colors coming from this Model. . The hair color, the blush and lip shade has allot of warm tones and draws the eyes against the gray tones of the stone brick wall and skies. The contrast of ginger hair against the green foilage in the background and at times, complimentary colors. Excellent location for this shoot! The quality of these photos is gorgeous!

For animal af, use the different area mode. It works really well.

I know this video is a year old now... These lenses are focused on videograpy. The focus ring is made for Follow focus systems, and all lenses in the lineup are the same weight and size to avoid re-adjusting your video gear like gimbal and focus systems. (the 100mm is larger) The Focus ring is linear, this is good for follow focus systems. The focus hold button on the side can be reprogrammed to other functions. Currently there are a manual focus ring attachment and a 1.7x Anamorphic adaper with yellow flares.

Is there a way to make human subject recognition override the flex spot focus, i.e. if there's a human in the frame, it prioritizes them over the AF flex spot, which may be in another part of the frame?

Sony plays with customers. They intentionally removed joystic, 8000 shutter speed, some custom buttons making people thirsty after those. So those will be included on 'a7cr ii' and people will buy them again. You just have to wait.

I've always wanted a nice camera and now I finally got one! It is a little intimidating to use at first, but this video really helped me break it down and understand everything better. Everyone starts somewhere and I'm glad I started with this video! I'm able to post better angles on my Instagram as well and my RUclips videos when I go out exploring.

Buy a real camera if you looking for a camera...

The camera looks absolutely amazing! I've left Nikon recently for Sony but now I kinda feel like coming back. I really like what Nikon have been doing recently, the Z8 is amazing and so are the S-line lenses. But... the screen again. I have the same style of screen on my A7 IV and I am definitely not a huge fan of it. Well, Nikon was quite loud about the new viewfinder but I haven't heard anything about the screen so I'm curious. How does it compare with the A7 IV in terms of brightness? The thing is, when I shoot a wedding or an event with my A7 IVs on dual camera straps, I tend to just turn the screen and have it on the camera body (otherwise I'm quite worried about the hinge when moving around) but then sometimes the issue is that from some very weird angles I can hardly see anything. Maybe if the screen was brighter, it would help a bit.

50mm lenses are more expensive, but looks more realistic, and editorial. 85mm is way cheaper and people look bigger, and fatter.
